Message from Mrs. Nistor
22 Apr 2020
Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that we would be dealing with a Pandemic during our lives. March 16th was the day we were informed that schools would be closing indefinitely, and March 19th was our last day in school. It has been over a month since we have seen the students and parents and I want you to all know that we miss you dearly! The most important things of course are everyone’s health and safety.
It appears that Saskatchewan is flattening the curve and Regina is doing well too. It is my hope along with teachers that we will see your children before the end of June, but we also know that we have to protect our community from COVID 19.
As you know, teachers are supplying supplemental learning at this time. Regina Huda School prides itself on the academic rigor and success of our students. Right now we need parents to help us to ensure that students are participating in supplemental learning. Though the province has provided options for parents given the circumstances, and we respect that, having your child involved in online learning at this time is important if you want your child/children to be reaching their potential in the fall. Though teachers will adapt to the need of students, students who are not learning for over five months will have a disadvantage and will lose knowledge and skills necessary for their success in the upcoming year.
If your child is in our online learning, thank you for your support of your child. If your child is not, it does not matter if they start now, we would love to see them participate at any time. Set your child up for success by participating.
I also want to wish you Ramadan Mubarak as you begin Ramadan this week. This is a special time and holy month for our community. The staff and I are thinking of you during this time. You are an amazing community and we look forward to seeing you hopefully in the near future.
