For over 50 years, the Canadian Teachers’ Federation has been sending Canadian teachers overseas to African and Caribbean countries to deliver professional development workshops for teachers to strengthen public education. Regina Huda School staff and students were very fortunate to have a visit from Sheikh Malek from Toronto January 11-13. Grade 5-12 students participated in discussions with him about memorizing Qur’an, facing challenges, and being a good Muslim. Please view the discussions if you are interested.

Socks, Socks and More Socks! The girls in the Physical Education 9 class at Regina Huda School engaged in a project in the early weeks of December. After doing some reading with Mrs. Hall, the class found that as the weather turns colder, socks are a highly needed item at shelters and programs that provide assistance to those without homes or who need a hand. ...

At our January assembly, we recognized December’s Huda Heroes for being responsible. Congratulations Wasequa Chowdhury, Abeera Iman, Alveena Alveena, Aemen Mohsin, Sumaiya Chowdhury, Mohammed Shawan, and Montaqua Chowdhury. Congratulations to the 29 students who went to the December Swift Current Debate Tournament with Ms. Mah! Congratulations to the students who were drawn for a prize for making wudu properly so consistently!
