Provincial Debate Tournament

Regina Huda School hosted a very successful Provincial Tournament on March 29th. We are very grateful for the many, many parents, friends and students who volunteered their time to judge, moderate, and help out at the tournament that day. I would also like to thank our debate coaches and planning committee members for their hard work throughout the season, and especially in preparation for this big event: Melissa Mah, coach, Sarah Keshane, coach, Janessa Weir, coach, Donna Littlemore, committee member, Jody Hall, committee member. We were pleased to have so many youngsters participating in this event! Although we did not bring home any trophies this year, several of our debators did very well in the competition. Fatima Syeda and Diba Chowdhury placed 2nd in the Intermediate team category. We also congratulate Loubna Aboguddah for winning the “Youth Volunteer Award”, and to Zona Iftikhar and Amna Bibi for receiving the “Spirit of Debate” awards for our club. As you’ll be able to see from the pictures, our students not only worked hard, but they had a lot of fun, too. We are looking forward to next year already!
